Week One Updates and Clarifications

Thank you for your continuous feedback.  Some clarifications and changes can be found in RED below:

1.  Exercise for at least 30 minutes per day - 1 point
2.  Exercise for at least 60 minutes per day add another - 1 point

1.2.1 - The Day of Rest Clause:  Strenuous Exercise is not required on Sundays.  See Exodus 20:8-11 for details.  Therefore, TWO (2) points will be awarded for any "active" time with your family on Sunday.  "Active time" may include, but is not limited to walking, playing catch, sunday wrestling, romping in the lilies, visiting and helping the sick & lonely.

3.  Two snacks per day or less (portions smaller than you fist) - 1 point

3.1 - The Kim & Texie Amendment:  Two snacks per day or less will be changed as follows:  (1) Snacks will now be changed to "Treats".  Treats are things that are bad for you.  Apples & carrots are not considered "treats" for example. (2) "Two snacks per day" will be removed from the language.  The rule will be to eat less than the size of two fists in "treats".  Use your judgement on this one my friends!  Eating slightly less than two fists of fudge and twinkie lard may meet the letter of the law, but not the spirit of the law.
4.  Don't eat after 10 p.m. (or 2 hrs before going to bed) - 1 point
The Edward Clarification - This rule is the earlier of 10 p.m. or 2 hrs before bed.  The purpose of the the 10 p.m. rules is to prevent this: Eating pie at 10:45, then purposefully staying up until 12:45 just to get you point.  Adjustments will be made for all vampires (Edward for example) and anyone on swing or grave shifts.
5.  Create and stick to your own daily personal goal - 1 point

As always.  These rules can be adjusted.

How Summer 150 Works

How It Works (i.e. How You Win):

®    Start Date:  June 22, 2008

®    Each day you have a total of 5 points you can earn.   150 points for the entire challenge.

®    The program is set up to last 30 days.

®    Your $10 will go into a pot.  The person with the most points at the end of each month gets the pot.

®    A BBQ will also be held to honor of the winner. (refer to "Summer of 40") This BBQ will bear the name of the winner.  E.g. "The R. Paul Flitton Honorary BBQ", and the winner will be allowed to dish up first while the group sings "For she/he's a jolly good winner..."
